When Should I Order My Blinds?

Planning your new home build or renovation project:

If you’re in the planning stages of building your dream home or realising your home improvement project, no doubt you’ve got a lot on your mind! Planning your new home build or renovation project can be a daunting task. You need to select your colour palettes, design styles, fixings and finishes, all whilst coordinating contractors and delivery times, and chances are you’re working against the clock!

In order to make planning your new home or renovation project a little easier, we talk you through the lead times associated with the variety of window treatments and furnishings we have on offer at Barrierscreens.

How long does it take for blinds to be made?

Because our roller blinds, vertical blinds, roman blinds, panel glide blinds, and curtains are custom manufactured locally, we work on a time frame of approximately 4 weeks. Generally, this allows us the guideline of 1 week for the check measure to be completed, 2 weeks for manufacturing, and 1 week for professional installation. Depending on componentry supply, workflow, and general factors beyond our control, the time may shorten or lengthen. Your Barrierscreens Representative will always strive to keep you updated on any delays or advancements and are happy to answer any questions you may have about your order.

How long does it take for security screens to be made?

Much like our selection of beautiful blinds, our security screens are also manufactured locally and have a competitive lead time.

SecureView, Xceed and Barrier 7mm security screens take approximately 4 weeks from the date that the quote is accepted until installation. This allows us approximately 1 week for conducting the check measure, 2 weeks for manufacturing, and 1 week to coordinate the installation. Factors that could alter this timeframe are colour matching or powder coating requests, however, your Barrierscreens Representative will keep you updated through the progression of the production of your security screens.

How long does it take for plantation shutters to be made?

Plantation shutters are the most popular window treatment, however, have the longest lead time of our range. Timber plantation shutters and PVC plantation shutters are imported, therefore, more transportation time needs to be taken into consideration.

From the date the quote is accepted until the date of installation, plantation shutters generally take approximately 8-10 weeks and, as always, your Barrierscreens Representative will take care to update your on any delays or advancements with your order.

Summary - How long does it take for window treatments to be made?

Blinds: Approximately 4 Weeks

Security Screens: Approximately 4 Weeks

Plantation Shutters: Approximately 8-10 Weeks

Important: In the case of building a new home or renovating that involves retiling or resurfacing, it is important to measure for production only after these have been completed to ensure correct measurements for your blinds, screens and shutters.

We hope that this introduction into production lead times of blinds, security screens and shutters has been helpful in planning your home improvement project or building your new home.
